Senior Vice President of Device Development
Dr. Miller has 30 years of industry experience, developing over a dozen commercial products for medical devices and therapeutic polymers. His research emphases include the chemical modification of naturally occurring biopolymers. Currently, his work focuses on the development of cell/device combination products that aim to improve the therapy of hard-to-treat diseases. Dr. Miller has significant professional service experience, serving as the Industry Council Chair and Member of the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. He is also a member and past chairman of the University of Washington Engineered Biomaterials Industrial Advisory Board, and a member of the City University of New York Biomedical Engineering Advisory Board.
Dr. Miller holds B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Marine Chemistry from Southampton College of Long Island University. He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He is an inventor on 70 patents and an author or co-author of 39 publications or book chapters.
